Tay Tuan Kiat

General Manager

Tuan Kiat joined LexisNexis as a Consultant in November 2004 and was appointed General Manager, Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan in January 2005. Tuan Kiat reports to Doug Kaplan, CEO for Asia Pacific.

Tuan Kiat began his career at Reuters covering assignments in Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong, primarily in sales, marketing and general management positions. Over his 10-year period at Reuters, he managed several critical accounts in Singapore like the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the Government Investment Corporation of Singapore and Goldman Sachs. He also secured an exclusive contract with China’s first official foreign exchange trading entity - the China Foreign Exchange Trade Centre in 1994 and was part of the team that developed and launched the China Domestic Service.   

In April 2000, he left to become Managing Director for Interactive Data System, a financial information start-up funded by the 3i Asia Pacific Technology Fund, establishing offices in Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore. In December 2001, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Trustcopy, a young start-up holding patents in optical watermark technology in secure printing solution, also funded by the 3i group.

Tuan Kiat is a Singapore national and obtained a BA degree in Political Science and Economics from the National University of Singapore. He is married with a daughter and has a great passion for tennis. In addition to English, Tuan Kiat speaks fluent Chinese Mandarin, Cantonese, Teochew and Hokkien.
